Common Queries
Q what is a Thermo-electric element or a Peltier Element
Compact mini coolers use a thermo-electric element (also called a Peltier Element) which can either cool or heat depending on the polarity of the voltage connected to it. In thermo-electric mini coolers, unlike larger larder kitchen fridges, there is no thermostatic control for the temperature. This is because the “Peltier” Element can only cool to a certain number of degrees below the outside ambient temperature.
For example set to cool 10°C below room temperature and the ambient room temperature indoors is 25°C then the temperature inside the fridge will be 15°C but if ambient room temperature is 12°C then the temperature inside the fridge will be 2°C.
This means that compact coolers are good for chilling food and drinks but are not suitable for keeping temperature critical items like insulin in at specific temperatures.
Troubleshooting
Please refer to your instruction manual or follow the quick troubleshooting guide below for your mini fridge to resolve the most common issues. If you have any further questions, feedback then please don't hesitate to contact us.
Q  My compact cooler is not functioning and the fan is not spinning.?
• Check the power cable is connected correctly and the MODE switch is set to either HOT or COLD
• The in-car adaptor (cigarette lighter end) may have debris preventing the contact. If necessary clean with a non metal brush and solvent.
• The mains power socket is not switched on (mains adaptor sold separately).
• There may be debris preventing the fan from spinning. Use a vacuum to remove the dust/debris.
• Check the mains socket with another device. You may have a faulty socket. If the other device works try changing the fridge's plug fuse.
My compact cooler is making a whirring noise, is this normal?
• This is normal when the cooler is cooling down.
The compact cooler is not cooling sufficiently.
• Check the MODE switch is set to COLD (the green LED is illuminated).
• Check the fan is free of dust and is spinning freely. (NOTE: cooling is effected by the external ambient temperature.
• Allow 30 minutes for the compact fridge to return to room temperature before attempting to switch from heating to cooling mode, or visa versa.
• Allow at least 10cm distance from the back and sides of the compact fridge to allow the withdrawn heat to disperse.
• To achieve the quickest cooling operation, fill the cooler with beverages which have already been refrigerated. They will then stay cool and become even colder providing the cooler remains switched on.
• The temperature at which the cooler operates depends on the surrounding ambient temperature. Cooling will be more efficient in a colder environment.
Q  A pool of water has appeared ?
• Cool air from inside the compact cooler draws moisture out of nearby warmer air, which condenses on the inner surface. Wipe away any moisture build up with a soft cloth and avoid opening the fridge door regularly to reduce excessive condensation build-up.
